Facebook Live…Do You Find It Daunting? Here’s 4 Simple Steps To Structure Your First Facebook Live.
Firstly why bother to do a video when you can do a status, its easier and far less terrifying !?
Like most things in this industry, being afraid or worried about something is usually a good sign that its something you need to do to move forward.
I guess it is but let me share some stats with you …
63% of people aged 18-34 on Facebook are watching live streamed content on a regular basis.
Live streaming it set to be an industry worth $70 billion by 2021.
People spend 3x more time watching a live stream rather than a standard video.
Facebook live holds the largest percentage of live viewers across all social media.
So hopefully that puts things into perspective going LIVE is becoming a MUST if you wish to stand out in this very fast growing industry.
People prefer RAW, authentic videos. Not only that the fact that its live and unedited often means it not only has more engagement but actually makes it more relatable to your audience.
The 4 Simple Steps To Structure Your First Facebook Live…..
*Step 1 – Intro
Introduce yourself at the start of every Facebook Live you do. I know it sounds stupid as your name is on top of your post right?
But you have to think about the NEW viewers you are going to reach as a result of going live.
Some of these people wont have a clue who you are or what you offer.
A simple to the point intro at the start of your live is a fantastic way to instantly posture yourself as someone worth listening to.
“Hey Guys, Matt Richards here from themattrichards.com and i help people to blow up their online business using free facebook strategies”
Even if you where a complete stranger who never heard of me before inside of 5 seconds you would know EXACTLY what to expect from the video in terms of content.
When making an intro try to make it short and snappy, dont spend any longer than 6-7 seconds, humans have a super short attention span these days and if you spend too long talking about yourself they will just log out.
*Step 2 – Question
What is the purpose of your live? If you are in the marketing space and want to be someone who is worth looking out for you need to be delivering some kind of value to your niche market.
There’s MILLIONS of people on Facebook using live video now, you need to give people a valid reason to watch you rather than them.
A great way to make people aware of the content inside of the video is to ask a question after your intro.

*Step 3 – Content
We touched on this above too inside of step 2.
Getting the right content inside of your Facebook Live is key if you want to retain viewers and give new people a reason to follow you.
I would say there is things you need to bare in mind when creating your content.
1) Your content needs to be RELEVANT to your niche market. For example if you are building your brand on helping people with Facebook then it doesn’t make sense to continue to make videos about Instagram.
2) Your content needs to be consistent, people may not show up right away. Stick with your market long enough to be recognized.
3) Don’t talk about yourself too much, focus on delivering the best content you can rather than trying to brag about achievements.
4) Even the simplest of tips can help, never pre judge people listening. “Well everyone knows this”, you are saying that from your level of awareness, NOT your audience.
The majority of your video should be spend in this section, your audience should always come before yourself.
Facebook lives are basically a service to your following.
*Step 4 – Call To Action
The most important part yet so many miss it out. What is the point of doing any Facebook lives if you dont want to send the viewers anywhere?
Now a call to action does not need to be “Well contact me now to buy this” it can be something much more subtle but you NEED to have a call to action on all content you produce.
